Rep. Jonathon Hill

Jonathon Hill comes from a family of political activists. The oldest of six children, he was born and raised in the Upstate of South Carolina and was homeschooled his entire life. Instead of pursuing a traditional college degree, Jonathon pursued a childhood interest in computers, eventually becoming a successful software developer.

In late 2007, Jonathon entered the world of political activism by volunteering for conservative political candidates. In 2009, he started the Anderson Tea Party and worked with other liberty leaders to fight the liberal agenda coming out of Washington, D.C. After watching the passage of Obamacare from the House gallery, Jonathon returned to South Carolina only to find the state capitol full of the same power-hungry ruling class. Refocusing his efforts on state-level activism, he eventually ran and defeated an eight-year Republican incumbent in 2014 and now serves the citizens of House District 8 in Anderson County.

Jonathon lives in Townville, SC, and is a member of Grace Baptist Church in Starr.
